Accomplishments

Advocating to not sever and sell the green space at Ancaster High School

Ancaster High green space (soccer fields) are no longer being pursued for severance

Continuous followup with the city and school board facilities department on the servicing of the land for the new Binbrook school to ensure its' built sooner rather then later   

 Working with Ward 11 City Councillor, removed barriers for the new Binbrook Elementary school to start construction in March 2026.  The new school has a scheduled opening date of September 2027.

Proper supports for students to feel safe and welcome at school   

Supported a motion in 2023 to move centralized education support staff back into schools for increased supports         ​

Advocacy

Advocated successfully for additional provincial funding to support the current market value to build the new Elementary school in Binbrook from the 2020 provided funding. 

Advocated successfully of the capital priority submission for funding of a 5 classroom and full day daycare addition at Mount Hope Elementary school.

Delegated to Hamilton City Council about the importance of supporting public education in Ontario.

Worked with Ward 12 City Councillor to improve student and pedestrian safety around our schools.

Worked with Ward 11 City Councillor to remove barriers to starting the build of the new Elementary school in Binbrook.  Additionally completed safety walks with the City Councillor in and around Ward 11 schools to improve student safety when walking or biking to school.
